Hiring discrimination is still very present in Belgium. Djenabou paid the price during his search for internships.
Djenabou Dialo, a self-employed person looking for opportunities, is one of the many Belgians who are victims of discrimination in employment. She testifies to the difficulties she faced during her research: “I was rejected on the phone. I think that for my last internship, I made 114 calls and at the end of 115th, I was in class, I asked my classmate to call the same number for me to see if it would work. And it's over.”
