We all know the anxiety in the classroom. You don't know how the machines work, everyone seems professional except you, you repeat Have you been doing the same exercises for months, but without getting the expected results?
Spoiler: looking for a job is exactly the same feeling!
On the occasion of our partnership with Basic-Fit and our campaign visible in May and June in their theaters, we share with you 3 sports tips that will boost your chances of getting a job.
1. Regularity, not intensity
Do you have to give everything at once when looking for a job? Going “too fast, too hard” means taking the risk of a breakdown, injury... or exhaustion in your search.
In the theater, intensity is not everything. Those who make progress are those who come regularly and focus on the right exercises.
For the job search, it's the same.
Send 15 applications in one day and then disappear for 2 weeks? Ineffective.
Send 2-3 applications every day or every week? A lot more powerful.
✅ Practical tip: Set a simple routine
👉 30 minutes a day to look for deals
👉 1 qualitative application per day
👉 1 reminder per week
The key is not to burn out. It's consistency.
2. You progress better with a coach
Why hire a coach? Because we go faster... and we give up less. A coach gives you a method, fixes you and gives you goals.
In the job search, this is exactly the role of the volunteer mentor at DUO for a JOB.
✅ DUO for a JOB is a 100% free mentoring program which accompanies young people (18-33 years old) looking for a job in Charleroi, Brussels, Liège and Verviers and puts them in contact with an experienced mentor for 6 months.
Result?
👉 Improved resume
👉 Better self-confidence
👉 Access to a network
...and 7 out of 10 young people find a job or training!
In the classroom as with the applications, not being alone changes everything.
3. Results take time (and that's normal)
How long does it take to see results? More than you think... but worth it.
Nobody gets muscular in 2 weeks.
For employment, it's the same. Sending applications with no response is normal. Having unsuccessful interviews is normal. Doubting... it's (very) normal.
✅ What matters is
👉 learn every step of the way
👉 adjust your strategy
👉 continue
So replace “I suck, I can't do it” with “I am improving”.
Rejections are tough, but they give an opportunity to understand strengths and weaknesses. And rehearsals make progress.
3, 2, 1... DUO for a JOB!
At Basic-Fit as well as at DUO for a JOB, we share the same conviction: everyone deserves to have access to the right tools to progress.
DUO for a JOB is 100% free. As for a “test session”, you can come to an “information session.” You will discover how we can boost your job search.
