This January 2026, DUO for a JOB Charleroi received the Crystal Belfry, a distinction awarded by the City of Charleroi to those who contribute concretely to the dynamism and influence of the territory.
This award recognizes in-depth work, carried out over several years, in the service of the socio-professional integration of young people with an immigration background — in Charleroi and in Hainaut.
The ceremony took place in the prestigious setting of the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Charleroi, bringing together a large audience of actors and actresses from the region.
Once upon a time DUO for a JOB
Established in 2022 in the Black Country, DUO for a JOB has fully taken its place in the Carolo ecosystem. A stone's throw from the station, our team creates intergenerational and intercultural duos every day, in close collaboration with institutional, associative and economic actors in the territory.
The ambition is clear: to create bridges between generations, cultures, sectors and professional experiences, to promote sustainable access to employment.
A collective success
This Crystal Belfry is above all the fruit of a collective commitment. Thanks to our volunteer mentors, our field teams, and all of our public, associative and private partners. Thanks also to the City of Charleroi and its mayor Thomas Dermine for their trust and this highlight.
DUO for a JOB was rewarded alongside several other iconic winners: Samia Hilmi, an actress from Gilly, praised for her artistic career and her influence on the Belgian cultural and film scene, Astrid Bowl, an internationally renowned junior tennis tournament, a true local sporting pride, real local sporting pride, Mahdi Ba, a content creator who gave Charleroi unprecedented visibility to an international audience and Nathan Loriola, founder of the BAD Festival, which became a local institution in Lodelinsart in a few years.
Being associated with these inspiring journeys is an honor and confirms that social impact has its full place in Charleroi today and tomorrow.
