    DUO for a JOB is committed to respecting your privacy when processing your personal data in accordance with the European Data Protection Act, namely the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) EU 2018/1725.

    What is GDPR?

    GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is the new reference text on data protection at European level with the objective of strengthening the framework for practices relating to the collection and use of personal data.

    The GDPR rules repealing Directive 95/46/EC shall apply, as from 25 May 2018, to all private or public undertakings in the Member States of the European Union. More specifically, to companies:

    • Providing goods and services on the EU market.
    • Collecting and processing personal data on EU residents.

    The rules and obligations of the GDPR apply to the processing – automated or not – of personal data, namely, any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. By identifiable natural person, it is meant a natural person who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier, such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier, or to one or more elements specific to his physical, physiological, genetic, psychological, economic, cultural or social identity.

    Data processing, as defined by GDPR, refers to the collection, access, storage, manipulation, destruction and consultation of data.

    Registration of personal data

    1. The data you provide to us 

    When you make a donation

    When you donate to DUO for a JOB on the website or complete a request form for a one-off or periodic donation, your data is recorded in a database for the purpose of managing relations with our donors.

    When subscribing to the newsletter

    Visitors to our website can subscribe to the newsletter. The data that visitors provide during this registration is recorded in a data file that we use when sending the newsletter. When you fill in your date of birth (= non-compulsory field), we will also send you an email to wish you a happy birthday.

    When you participate in an action or campaign organized by DUO for a JOB

    For example, a sporting activity for the benefit of DUO for a JOB, participation in a trade fair, etc.

    Spontaneously

    For example, volunteers, persons/companies setting up a fundraising activity for DUO for a JOB, during a telephone conversation, etc.

    2. Data that is collected automatically

    Some data is collected using cookies: discover our cookie policy. In addition, some data may be collected without being stored in cookies. They can only be consulted by DUO for a JOB’s digital team and only when you visit the website. this consists of:

    • TCP/IP address
    • the type and version of your navigation system
    • the last web page you visited

    3. Data transmitted by partners

    In this case, the partners of DUO for a JOB guarantee DUO for a JOB that they have obtained permission to transmit the personal data in question.


    What data do we collect and store?

    Depending on the situation and subject to the consent of the data subject, DUO for a JOB collects and stores the following data:

    • First and last name
    • Gender
    • Language
    • Date of birth
    • Domicile and place of residence
    • Private and business email addresses
    • Telephone number
    • Bank account number
    • Company name
    • Function
    • Images / Photos
    • All sensitive data relating to the organization’s beneficiaries, volunteers and donors.

    Use of data

    1. General use

    When you make a donation, your data is recorded in our file to thank you, to keep you informed of our activities and to invite you to make new donations (one-time or recurring donations, bequests…).

    If you subscribe to our electronic newsletter, your e-mail address will only be used to send it to you. If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter, you can unsubscribe by clicking on “Unsubscribe” at the bottom of the newsletter or by contacting us.

    Exceptionally, your data may also be used for our fundraising activities (such as a call for emergency assistance, for example). In addition, your personal data is collected in order to establish statistics or conduct surveys concerning the number of visits to different parts of the site, after making them anonymous.

    2. Disclosure to third parties

    Your personal data is kept confidential and is not disclosed to third parties or used for direct marketing purposes, unless DUO for a JOB has obtained your explicit prior consent via opt-in. This authorisation may be withdrawn by you at any time and without stating reasons by contacting us at web@duoforajob.be.


    Duration of data retention

    Data relating to persons who have not provided consent for the storage of their data other than for the processing of their specific request shall be stored only for the duration of the processing period. This may range from 30 to 60 days for a request for information, educational materials, purchases, one-time donations or participation in an action.

    Data of persons who have expressed an interest in DUO for a JOB’s future actions, activities and campaigns as well as data of persons participating in donations are stored in accordance with Article 5 of the Regulation (GDPR), i. e. for a period necessary for the purposes or until explicitly waived by the persons concerned.

    To object

    You can exercise your right to object to the processing of your personal data for serious and legitimate reasons by sending an e-mail to web@duoforajob.be.

    If the processing of your personal data is necessary for the fulfilment of contractual obligations, it is not possible to object.
