DUO for a JOB (non-profit) was founded in Brussels in 2013 and has been active in Turnhout since 2023. DUO offers an intergenerational and intercultural mentoring program that connects young people from migrant backgrounds with volunteer mentors aged 50 and over.
Our Mission? To promote equal opportunities in the labor market for young people with migrant backgrounds, while also valuing the professional experience of those over 50, thereby contributing to a more just and solidary society.

🎯 Your missions
As a Mentoring Program Officer, you will recruit, train, and match mentors and mentees, supporting them throughout their DUO journey. Additionally, you will spearhead the expansion of DUO for a JOB in Turnhout.
We are looking for a new colleague to join our team of 8 in the province of Antwerp, based in Turnhout. You will be in direct contact with youth and volunteers, guiding them through the process while coordinating local operations. This involves building a regional network, collaborating with partner organizations, and ensuring operational follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
🤝 Creating & Following Up on Duos
- Organizing and leading joint information sessions for participants.
- Conducting individual interviews with mentors and mentees.
- Matching mentors and mentees based on specific criteria.
- Supporting duos for 6 months (from first meeting to evaluation) by answering questions, solving problems, providing advice, and sharing relevant guidelines.
- Ensuring administrative follow-up via our CRM system.
🎓 Training & Events
- Actively participating in the organization and facilitation of mentor training.
- Participating in intervision sessions and workshops.
🚀 Support for Branch Development
- Assisting in the implementation of the DUO for a JOB strategy in Turnhout and the surrounding area.
- Recruiting mentors and mentees to achieve set targets.
- Representing the organization at events (job fairs, networking days, external sessions, steering committees, etc.).
- Developing partnerships with local stakeholders (associations, companies, public figures, authorities).
📷 Communication & External Representation
- Maintaining contacts with regional actors and promoting the program.
- Increasing visibility via various channels (social media, press, etc.) in collaboration with the communication team

- You want to take a leading role in expanding our operations in Turnhout.
- You are committed to building diversity and inclusion.
- Knowledge of the social sector, public institutions, and employment guidance in Turnhout.
- You enjoy structure, human contact, and a diverse range of tasks.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience.
- Fluency in Dutch and very good knowledge of English; knowledge of French is a plus.
- Proficient in digital tools (Google Suite, Notion, etc.).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- You embody the DUO motto: "Warm Professionalism."
- You are available to travel to Borgerhout once a week (Mondays) for team meetings.

- A part-time (80%) fixed-term contract until June 30, 2027 (with possibility of extension).
