European Project & Advocacy Officer – CIP Internship

DUO for a JOB is a partner in the European Erasmus+ project Ment2You (KA220-YOU), led by a consortium bringing together Collectif Mentorat (FR), Bundesverband soziales Mentoring (DE) and Coordinadora Mentoria Social (ES), within the Mentoring Europe network. The project aims to structure transnational cooperation around youth mentoring and to produce shared, quality tools (definitions, mapping, guides, training) at European level.

We are looking for an intern who will work closely with the Director General and the Advocacy/Projects team, to support the implementation of DUO for a JOB's part of this project as well as the organisation's European advocacy work.

This internship sits at the crossroads of desk research, European project coordination, institutional advocacy and network facilitation. You will play a key role in gathering and structuring knowledge on mentoring in Europe, and in building advocacy content for European decision-makers. The internship is organised around two complementary strands: research and consultation work for the Mentoring Europe network (from October 2026 to February 2027), and ongoing support for European advocacy around the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF 2028-2034), throughout the whole internship. The internship begins with the project kick-off, held in person in Paris.

What you will do
Desk research and network consultation

• Take part in the project launch (in-person kick-off in Paris) and get up to speed with the consortium's coordination tools


• Contribute to the documentary mapping and literature review on the definition of mentoring, skills assessment and impact measurement


• Support the design and distribution of surveys among Mentoring Europe network members


• Help prepare and conduct interviews with sector experts on quality standards in mentoring


• Contribute to launching the working groups (Advisory Groups) of the European Mentoring Summit


• Draft internal summaries for the consortium

EU advocacy

• Actively contribute to the advocacy campaign aimed at positioning mentoring within the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF 2028-2034)


• Support the drafting of advocacy notes and contributions for European decision-makers


• Ensure the distribution of tools and notes to relevant stakeholders (MEPs – Council – CoR – Commission)

Cross-cutting coordination

• Contribute to the consortium's shared document management and to tracking the project timeline


• Take part in coordination meetings with the European partners (FR, DE, ES)

You are

• Structured, rigorous and autonomous — you enjoy clarity and synthesising complex information


• Interested in European policy, social inclusion and innovation in the nonprofit sector


• Comfortable with desk research, writing summaries and facilitating groups


• Proactive, comfortable working in a multicultural and multilingual environment


• Attentive to issues of mentoring, social and professional inclusion, and intergenerational solidarity

Essential

• Studies in European affairs, political science, law, humanities or a similar field


• Strong writing and summarising skills


• Good command of English, the working language of the Ment2You consortium


• Fluency in French


• Comfortable with collaborative tools (Google Drive, video conferencing)

Nice to have

• Spanish or German, an asset for exchanges with the other network partners


• Understanding of how Erasmus+ projects or European consortia work

• Higher education (Master's)

Language skills
